Walmart's Newest Car Seat Prevents Children From Getting Locked In Hot Cars
August 2, 2015
Walmart and Evenflo announced this week a new infant car seat with technology designed to remind drivers of their backseat passengers, to prevent children from dying in hot cars. According to KidsAndCars.org, an estimated 38 fatalities occur each year related to overheating in vehicles.

In most new cars, an alert sounds if a driver or passenger is not wearing a seat belt or if headlights are left on.
Using a similar concept, Evenflo's car seat will sound an alarm if the harness remains buckled after the driver shuts the ignition off and exits the vehicle.
The $150 car seat will be available exclusively at Walmart for one year. It's available now on Walmart.com and will be in stores mid-August.
