He Carries His Friend To Every Class, 12 Times A Day. And He's Been Doing It For 3 Years
May 6, 2015
A Chinese student has spent the past three years giving piggyback rides to his disabled best friend to ensure that he doesn't miss any classes.
Xie Xu, 19, attends Daxu High School in Jiangsu Province with Zhang Chi, 18, who has muscular dystrophy - a condition that affects skeletal muscle, and makes it extremely hard to walk.
Xie carries his friend to class at least 12 times a day.
The deputy headmaster of Daxu High School, Guo Chunxi, said the following about the students:
"The story of the two students is so inspiring and touching. They aren't family, but Xie has been doing this for three years. He's the most beautiful student."
"He also exerts positive influence on other students, who readily help Zhang. With their assistance, Zhang has never missed out on one single class."
