A Complete Stranger Rescued Me During A Coffee Disaster
By a friend • November 7, 2026
Chivalry isn’t dead. I was just in the local hardware store that has a coffee kiosk in it. Doing a coffee run with a trolley stacked high with garden mulch. Coming off the escalator, the overloaded trolley shifted and coffee went absolutely everywhere. I was stuck in a bottleneck, juggling a soggy coffee tray and a heavy trolley while people pushed past me.
The thunder was going outside , it was all feeling quite apocalyptic when suddenly an angel in form of a tall and lanky young man appeared. He grabbed the coffee tray and said, “I’ve got you mate! Take the coffee, I’ll take the trolley.”
I thought he was just helping me out the way but when we got to the carpark he said “where are we going? Where’s your car”. He walked me all the way chatting pleasantly.
Before anyone assumes anything: I’m a fat, middle-aged woman and I was literally covered in mud from gardening. He was just being a genuinely amazing human being.
Faith in humanity restored!
