This happened a few years ago. I was on the highway, around the end of rush hour, heading to an important meeting with a client. My father had an older sports car, and it was my main vehicle at the time, so that's what I was driving. It'd never gave me any problems before, but decided today, of all days, was the day it would give me hell.

Picture this, I'm in the center lane in a bumper to bumper crawl, when my car suddenly breaks down. I mean, engine gone, battery gone, lights off. Dead in every way as soon as traffic gets moving and everyone starts speeding up.

I also want to note that people tend to drive very recklessly in this particular area- speeding, drinking, crashing, just no regard for life and over all VERY dangerous.

And here I am, now stuck in a tiny little car, in the center lane, surrounded by the most impatient and dangerous drivers on earth.

I put my hazards on, and the cars behind me eventually start clearing around me, and going into the other lanes.

I call my dad distraught. I'm gonna miss the meeting, I don't know what to do and wild drivers are speeding past and around me so dangerously, I feared being rare ended or ran over.

Luckily my dad was able to hop in another vehicle to get me, but he was a solid 30 minutes away, and there was nothing I could do but pray and wait.

While I'm on the phone with him, I see a big semi truck coming up behind me. I thought he didn't see my hazard lights, and got pretty worried, as he started curving his truck bed. To my amazement, he used his truck to block all three lanes of traffic!

Hopped out his cab and RAN towards my car. Full on sprint. Nocking on the window and asking if I was alright. I couldn't roll it down so I opened the door and told him my situation ( trying not to cry from stress of course ).

He told me not to worry, and instructed me to put my car into neutral, then proceeded to push my car ( BY HIMSELF ) to the right side shoulder, and out of harms way.

HE BLOCKED the entire highway to save me!

I'm on the verge of tears at this point and pretty emotional to be fair, thanking him profusely. He reassures me it's fine and asked if I was okay. I told him I was, he smiled, nodded then sprinted back to his truck. Unblocking traffic and continuing on his way... Did I mention he was also young, tall and very handsome? He'd asked for my Instagram handle, but I was too disheveled to process what he said till after he left...

What a shame... and double shame that I didn't even have Instagram.

My father made it to me 20 minutes later, and drove me to my meeting ( arrived 16 minutes late ) and I was still able to meet with my client and seal the deal!

Had two phenomenal people looking out for me that day. A stranger whom I may never again meet, and my dad to the rescue!

Whenever I have doubts of angels on earth, I think on this encounter and how magical it truly was. This world is full of good people, and I am always delighted to encounter them.
