Friday morning, in bitterly cold weather 14 degrees below zero my daughter’s car broke down.
Cars passed by, but no one stopped.
Then an older Latina woman with handicapped plates pulled over.
She was the only one.
She offered my daughter the warmth and safety of her car, staying with her until help arrived.
A friend eventually came and gave her a jump so she could move her car out of danger.
We will never forget the kindness of that woman.
In a frightening moment, a stranger showed compassion, and that act of humanity means more than words can express.
