HOW DO I PLAY A GAME OF LIFE?
By desh torres • March 9, 2014
Wow!!! What a question… Is LIFE really a game that we simply play?
I am a 32 year old woman, at my age I could say that I have grown in maturity… I guess… But I also know that there are still lot of things for me to learn… I still have thousands of questions left unanswered… or maybe I am just exaggerating things…
The truth is I am still unhappy… I am often in nostalgia… I am still searching for that something that would make me say I am completely happy…
Would it be an own house I could give for myself and my family? Would it be finishing my M.A. and got promoted? Would it be finding the man that would ask me to be his wife and be a mother of his children… our children on that note? Or would it be a single blessed life that put on a step being a missionary beyond boarders?
Now tell me… Is LIFE a simple game that we just play? LIFE is full of endless opportunities… full of its complexities… How do I play it? I really don’t know…
What I know right now is that I am living a quite unhappy life… I know that others would tell me that it is the choice I make for my life… well I guess so… To be honest if I am disheartened with all the challenges I am encountering at work, at home and even in my own personal struggles… I might have decided to give up.
What keeps me holding on is the LOVE I develop through the years… LOVE more than HATE on dealing with my students’ misbehaviour and shortcomings… LOVE more than ANIMOSITY on dealing with my co-workers’ various tantrums and attitudes… LOVE more than DESPAIR on people who doesn't trust me enough that I can do it… LOVE more than INDIFFERENCE on people who doesn’t meet my standards… LOVE more than IMPATIENCE on waiting for so long… to which I considered as a fulfilment of my dreams… waiting for someone who will help me build a family and grow old with me… LOVE more than anything else that makes me stand still amidst oppressions and adversities…
My VOCATION is LOVE (inspired by St. Therese)… The most important CHOICE I make on how I LIVE this LIFE to its FULLEST… And so I claim it I will soon have the FULLNESS OF LIFE…
