Reliable Witnesses
By a friend • September 30, 2024
On the afternoon of Friday 20 September, on the way to Camberwell station, I experienced a health issue. I was attempting to beat the imminent torrential rain front to my train home.
What happened next is a bit sketchy, and so I rely on direct quotes from the ambulance notes:
"Reliable witness x 3 state [patient] was walking through Camberwell train station carpark when he commenced what seems like a generalised [tonic/clonic] seizure...
3 x bystanders assisting, [patient] lying lateral on ground in heavy rain. Confused and retrograde amnesia."
I will never meet reliable witness x 3, but the fact that they called an ambulance and waited with me for over ten minutes in pouring rain is remarkable. Melbourne is a singularly kind city, and this experience bears witness to that in the loveliest way.
Reliable witness x 3, I would like to sincerely thank you.
