In The Noisy Confusion Of Life Keep Peace In Your Soul
By Debbie • February 19, 2024
After losing my two 12 year old puppies Harry Houdini and Buster within 3 weeks of each other I was talking with a customer at my cafe Red Rascals I told her I was closing the cafe in a couple of weeks as I’m very tired working 55-70 hours a week.
She asked me what I was going to do. I responded with the first thing I will do is go and sit on a beach by myself and fish for a week or two.
She asked if I had a dog that could accompany me.
I hadn’t really cried since I had lost the boys and I had every intention of taking Harry with me, I was overwhelmed and burst into tears. Sshe asked me what types of dogs they were and when I explained. She went and got her phone and showed me some photos of her Lhasa Appso puppies that she breeds.
She gifted me one of her precious little puppies, we have called her Popcorn, poppy for short.
This lady has restored my faith in the human condition. I have been becoming rather cynical of late, this kind gesture reminds me of a line in desiterata "In the noisy confusion of life keep peace in your soul. With all its sham drudgery and broken dreams it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful, strive to be happy."
Thank you my dear customer for restoring a good measure of peace to my soul.
