The Sweetest Apples Ever

I ran to help a small woman today as her full shopping trolley nearly upended as she negotiated it down a curb.

When she had righted herself, I smiled at her then pointed to the nearby ramp saying that might be a better option next time.

As I was walking away, she called out for me to come back to her. She was going through her bag. I shook my head and waved at her saying it wasn’t necessary to give me anything. She didn’t appear to speak much English.

Instead, she grabbed a bag of apples and gave them to me. I just smiled and accepted them.

Might be the sweetest apples ever.
