Tonight Was My Local Carols In The Park

By Becs • December 19, 2022

Tonight was my local Carols in the Park. It's quite a big event.

But tonight was such a great teaching night for my children. I do try hard to lead by example.

So tonight, sharing the Christmas spirit.

We met up with some friends for the beginning, They graciously looked after my 6y as I went and got us some dinner.

They left not long after.

This freed up some space and a gorgeous little group sat next to us.

The youngest eyeing off the glow toys (I always take huge selection) so we shared, not only with that little group, but several others as well. Sharing light up toys and giving away glow sticks.

Then as my kids ate, we shared our snacks with the group too.

They in turn watched put stuff when my daughter needed to go to the loo a bit later on.

As we were leaving, we managed to fit in two more good deeds.

One helping a poor mum beside herself. She had lost her phone and it was pitch black. She is like me, and her phone has EVERYTHING on it. If it goes missing, absolutely everything will crumble. Thankfully, it was found and she later thanked my daughter for adding some humour to the moment by searching with her light bulb necklace.

If we hadn't of been delayed by the search, we would have missed an older couple sitting with their bonnet up on the opposite side of the road to us. However, due to the search, we were able to stop and jump start their car. They had left the lights on and the battery had died.

Honestly the best feeling ever, when your young child goes "Mumma, I really like helping people when I can. It makes them feel better and it makes me feel happy too".

So proud of both my kids tonight. 6 years old and 2.5 years old.
