And He Will Never Know

Yesterday I went to my medical practice co-op where we pay a yearly fee then are bulk billed for everything.
The receptionist asked a guy who looked so beaten down, if he had money to pay his instalment. He didn’t.
So once I had gone in to the doctor, I asked to pay his years fee. The receptionist was floored … all I said very quietly was that I want to pay his fee. Being a pensioner it was just $60. But he won’t be asked ( or embarrassed) for the next 12 months.
That to me is priceless.
12 months of not having to pay your fee.
And he will never know.
Even better.
