Marathon

By Kirsten • May 10, 2022

We moved from AUS to the USA 2 years ago.

My Aussie 13 year old just finished her first ever Marathon.

At 13 miles she wanted to give up and was really struggling. Around the 14.5 mile - an Australian man, named Andrew, found her crying and realizing she was Australian - they started chatting. This man stuck by her side for the rest of the race - did not leave her as she struggled, cried and wanted to give up.

He could have finished the race 1.5hrs earlier but he stuck by her side. A true hero. Aussie Mateship at its finest. She will forever be grateful (as will we).

Many readers told us they started writing down the small positives in their day, and this gratitude journal became a favorite. While others use these kindness cards for kids to help teach them compassion, empathy and encouragement.
