Despite being handicapped — his hind legs are non-functional — he leads a life full of joy, thanks to the unwavering love and care of his owner.

Rexie’s owner is a passionate advocate for disabled pets, challenging the notion that a physically restricted cat can’t have a fulfilling life.

"People tend to think that a cat with some physical restriction is not worth living because that's not what a 'normal' cat life looks like," she said. "But who defines what 'normal' is? Every living being wants to live and deserves a chance to live if it's a pain - and - discomfort - free life."

Caring for Rexie does require extra effort, but his owner insists it’s manageable.

"Yes, they do require some extra care on a daily basis, but it doesn't take more than 20 minutes a day," she explained.

She insists that it is not hard work to keep a cat like Rexie happy and healthy.

"I mean, look at Rexie! He's full of life and he shines with energy and positivity. And that's what is normal!" she said.
