Marine Biologists Find Tiny Octopus Riding Ocean Trash

During a surface break from coral reef monitoring, Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park marine biologists noticed something small when they picked up several items of floating plastic marine debris.

The baby octopus was about the size of a pea.

After posing for a few pictures, the octopus was released "safe and sound in a small protected space" by a member of the Geoscientists in Parks dive team.
