Goodbye Kisses: Jar Offers Forbidden Treat For Dogs Before Euthanasia

September 28, 2021

A social media post by an animal hospital in Alabama is bringing dog owners to tears.

The Smiths Station Animal Hospital has a jar filled with Hershey kisses that is only for dogs that are about to cross the rainbow bridge.

"This jar is reserved for our euthanasia appointments...because no dog should go to Heaven without tasting chocolate," the post read.

Others are sharing their stories of losing a four-legged companion.

Jennifer Williams, manager of Smiths Station Animal Hospital, said she and her colleagues were stunned by the outpouring as a result of the post.

"It was just so sweet that this one little jar filled with Hershey’s kisses brought people together from all over the world," Williams told Fox News.
