"So last night I was positive there was a ghost baby in the bed with my son. I was so freaked out, I barely slept," Maritza Cibuls said.

She went into his room and there was no sign of the ghost baby... but there he was, vividly, on the monitor.

The next morning, she investigated further and finally figured out the answer.

"It turns out my husband just forgot to put the mattress protector on when he changed the sheets. I could kill him," she wrote on her Facebook post.

Without a mattress cover, the night vision camera from the baby monitor was seeing through the sheet, to the label underneath . . . which made it look like a ghost baby was in the crib.

Her post has since gone super viral, with hundreds of thousands of fellow parents dying with laughter over the mistake.

"I'd be going in the room with a cross, some salt, and a gun...scooping up my baby and getting them right out of there," one mother said.
