A man who works on towboats pushing barges on the Mississippi River captured an epic photo of a lightning strike during a thunderstorm.

The photo was posted to Reddit by user captainford80 who wrote, "there was a storm with a lot of lightning so I stood on the deck and was using a burst shot didn't realize I even caught the picture till I went back and looked."
"It was at least a mile away but sounded like a bomb going off," he added.
