Is The Person Naming These Colors Of Yarn Okay?
July 6, 2016
Two women selling dyed yarn on their Etsy store are getting a lot of attention for their unique names.
Nicole and Cordula, from Nuremberg, Germany, used to be scientists. They starting knitting lace shawls in their free time, which soon led to a need for lighter weight yarns. They couldn't find that in Germany so they started dying yarn on their own. A new hobby was born that soon became their passion.
As you browse through their online store, you'll find color descriptions like "Flamingo flying too high","Poisonous Lettus" and "Drowning in the blue ocean."
For me, I think "Rain in the graveyard" is surprisingly accurate and might be my new favorite color.
