Beautiful Drone Footage Of Mont Saint Michel
October 14, 2020
Le Mont Saint Michel is a tidal island and mainland commune in Normandy, France.
The connection between Mont Saint-Michel and the mainland has changed over the centuries. Previously connected by a tidal causeway uncovered only at low tide, this was converted into a raised causeway in 1879, preventing the tide from scouring the silt around the mount.
In 2014, a new bridge was opened to the public.
On rare occasions, tidal circumstances produce an extremely high "supertide" and the bridge becomes completely submerged.
That is what you're about to see here.
"It's a magical place, especially when you are going there in the winter, or really early in the morning," the videographer said.
