An Australian Farmer Set Up A Drinking Pool For Wildlife As Temperatures Rise And Dams Dry Up
December 18, 2019
A family that runs an emu farm in Australia set up a water trough for wildlife to drink from as temperatures in the region continue to rise and dams are drying up.
The farm's wildlife camera captured various animals stopping by to quench their thirst, including an echidna "which only drink water when its very dry", the family says.
The trough also has a dirt ramp on one side to help smaller animals reach the water.
"We have built a dirt ramp on one side of the trough for the ones with short legs and don't fly, as more are coming in looking for water as more dams dry up," the caption on the video reads.
