Mister Rogers was everyone's friend and one of the greatest human beings the world has known.

On May 1, 1969, Fred Rogers appeared before the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee requesting funds to support a new concept - national public television. What he said gave Senator Pastore goosebumps.
