Maddox has been battling cancer, and the journey hasn’t been easy. His father shared that when the fight first began, the brain tumor had severely affected the left side of his body.

“When this fight started, he barely had use of his left side because of the brain tumor,” his dad explained. “When he crawled, his left side would just drag behind him.”

Doctors warned the family that it could take a very long time for Maddox to regain his strength.

“We were told he likely wouldn’t walk for years,” his father said.

But Maddox had other plans.

Despite chemotherapy, hospital stays, and countless challenges, the determined little boy has been showing up consistently for occupational therapy and physical therapy, working hard to rebuild his strength.

And his determination is paying off.

In the touching video shared by his dad, Maddox can be seen proudly walking across the room and kicking down plastic bowling pins—an incredible milestone considering where he started.

Even more remarkable, the moment came just days after another major hurdle.

“Two days ago he was released from the hospital after they removed 1.5 liters of fluid from his abdomen… and he’s already back to crushing every goal put in front of him,” his father wrote.

“He blows my mind more every single day. His grit, his resilience, his fight — it’s unreal. I’m so proud to be his dad.”

@kj_train When this started, the brain tumor took most of the strength on his left side. It would just drag when he crawled. We didn’t know if he’d ever get it back. He’s still battling cancer. Still doing chemo. But for 8 months he’s shown up to OT/PT and worked for every bit of progress. He was just in the hospital 2 days ago having 1.5L of fluid removed… and he’s still fighting. Every step you see is earned. 💛 #FightwithMaddox #childhoodcancer #braintumorwarrior#BrainTumorWarrior ♬ original sound - ote
