She Secretly Left Outfits For An Elderly Couple's Porch Goose… Then A Package Arrived That Left Her In Tears

Emily has a decorative porch goose at her home. A couple of blocks away, she noticed an elderly couple had one too. Without ever introducing herself, she began quietly dropping off little outfits for their goose — along with handwritten notes.

In one of the notes, she mentioned that she also had a porch goose of her own. But the couple had no idea who their mysterious “goose friend” was.

It was just something fun and kind Emily enjoyed doing. A tiny way to brighten someone’s day.

Then recently, a package showed up at her door.

Inside was a card from the couple’s daughter.

It read:

“Dear goose friend, we wanted to let you know that the goose owner passed away earlier this month. Dad was so tickled by your gesture… you brought joy the last couple months of his life. He asked the grandkids to dress the goose after you made each delivery.

The goose originally belonged to Mom, she requested it as a Mother’s Day gift in the early 90s… The goose even had a couple of photo shoots.

Along with her love for dressing her goose she was an extremely avid cookbook collector. We are sending along a Gooseberry cookbook from mom’s collection.”

The family included one of the late mother’s beloved Gooseberry cookbooks as a gift — a piece of something she treasured.

Emily said she couldn’t stop crying after reading the note.

And honestly, neither can we.

What she thought was a small, silly gesture — dropping off outfits for a decorative goose — ended up bringing comfort and joy during the final months of someone’s life.

Before ending her video, Emily shared a simple reminder:

“Well, I guess this is your sign that acts of kindness probably mean a lot more than you think.”

And sometimes, even a porch goose can carry more love than anyone realizes.
