An unforgettable moment unfolded in Saratoga Passage off Camano Island when a frantic seal begged a couple for help as a pod of orcas closed in on him.

Charvet Drucker says she was about 300 yards away when she first noticed the hunt happening in the distance. The orcas were circling fast, the water churning around their target — a terrified seal looking for any chance to survive.

That chance ended up being their boat.

As the seal swam toward her, he stopped for a split second and looked directly at her — almost as if asking, “Can I please come up?”
