Mystery Solved: Foster Dog Wasn’t Ignoring Commands, He Just Didn’t Speak English

November 13, 2025

A woman fostering a little chihuahua named Nacho couldn’t figure out why he didn’t respond to anything she said. She’d call his name, offer treats, and try every trick in the book — but Nacho just stared back, completely unbothered.

Then one day, she tried something different. She spoke to him in Spanish — and suddenly, his ears perked up, his tail wagged, and his eyes lit up with recognition. Turns out, Nacho was a Spanish-speaking pup all along!

The adorable moment was caught on video, melting hearts across the internet.

Nacho had been found wandering the streets of Los Angeles with no microchip and spent a month in foster care with no adoption requests. But after the video went viral, a loving couple quickly stepped up to adopt him.

Now, Nacho has a forever home.
