Police Respond To 'Suspicious' Cowboy Riding A Bull In A Walmart Parking Lot

November 12, 2025

When police in Alliance, Ohio, got a call about a man “riding a bull up and down the parking lot,” they really weren't sure what to expect. Officer Hook was dispatched to check out the “suspicious activity” at Walmart, and his reaction on the way said it all: “If I am reading this right… is he riding, like, an actual bull?”

Sure enough, when he arrived, there it was — a man in a cowboy hat calmly sitting atop a full-sized bull in the parking lot of Tractor Supply Co.

"I have so many questions," Officer Hook says as he walks toward the scene. And then his first question, "Can I pet Gus?"

Turns out, the pair were just passing through town for a rodeo at Garwood Arena in Columbiana that weekend.

Rather than issuing a citation, Officer Hook did what any good sport would do — he hopped on Gus for a quick photo!

The City of Alliance Police Department shared the hilarious encounter on Facebook.
