'I Couldn’t Stop Crying': Lost Cat Returns 400 Days After Hurricane Helene

A North Carolina family is counting their blessings this week after being reunited with their beloved cat, Bootsy — more than 400 days after she vanished during Hurricane Helene.

When the storm tore through their community, the family lost nearly everything — including their furry family member. For over a year, they searched and hoped, but Bootsy was nowhere to be found. Then one day, out of the blue, they heard a faint “meow.”
