When Kimberly walked out of the gym one day, she never imagined she’d walk straight into a life-changing friendship. Standing outside the doors was a small dog, staring in “just as hopeless as could be,” she said. He looked like he was silently asking for help — and she couldn’t turn away.

Kimberly brought him home, and within minutes, the exhausted pup curled up and fell fast asleep. “He seemed so relieved,” she said. A quick trip to the vet revealed he didn’t have a microchip, so Kimberly made the easy choice to keep him.
