Cancer Came For Him Twice. This 2-Minute Video Will Leave You Feeling Incredibly Inspired
October 13, 2025
When doctors told Alex Parra he had only months to live, he refused to let that be the end of his story.
Alex has battled cancer not once, but twice — and against all odds, he’s still here, living life to the fullest. On social media, he shared a message that has inspired thousands:
“My ‘Death Day’ was September 6th, 2018, and every time this day comes around I’m always left with anxiety, reflection, and celebration. Cancer tried to end my story multiple times, but September 6th has become a reminder that I get to turn the page.”
Now, Alex celebrates not what was lost, but what was gained — strength, gratitude, and another chapter of life. It's a powerful reminder that even when life writes us into a corner, we can still find the courage to keep turning the page.
@alex1leg It’s been a long journey and so far I am 2,558 days past my expiration date “My Death Day” was September 6th 2018 and everytime this day comes around I’m always left with anxiety, reflection, and celebration. Cancer tried to end my story multiple times but September 6th has become a reminder that I get to turn the page. Here’s to living @American Cancer Soc. @Make-A-Wish ♬ original sound - Hiccbow Dash
