'She Knew What She Was Running From': Community Saves Cow That Escaped Slaughter
September 24, 2025
A 4-year-old cow named Mootilda has officially earned her happily-ever-after.
She was meant to be food — but Mootilda had other plans. After a daring escape from a slaughterhouse, she was found on the run by Amy, who felt she was meant to live her best life.
Amy reached out to the slaughterhouse to see if she could adopt her — but the price tag was steep: $2,500 and they demanded it within 24 hours. With no way to cover it alone, Amy lost hope. That’s when her community stepped in. Neighbors and friends came together, raising enough money for Amy to adopt the cow.
Now, Mootilda is living her best life with her best friend, Adora-bull.
She is proof that sometimes, the courage to take action can change your destiny.
