Watch A Baby Hippo Take Its First Steps On Dry Land
August 21, 2025
A heartwarming video from South Africa is melting hearts everywhere, showing a newborn hippo taking its first steps on dry land.
The tiny calf can be seen closely following its mom, wobbling adorably as it makes its way out of the water for the very first time. While hippos spend much of their lives in rivers and lakes, mothers usually give birth in shallow water, where calves are safest.
From there, it’s only a matter of time before the little ones are introduced to the land around them.
