July 23, 2025

If you’ve ever dreamed of sipping coffee while hanging out with the world’s most laid-back animal, you’re in luck—capybara cafés are real, and they’re starting to pop up in more places.

At these cozy spots, guests can relax with friendly capybaras, feed them treats, and enjoy the ultimate chill experience. Known for their gentle nature and love of lounging, capybaras make surprisingly great café companions.

While these cafés first gained popularity abroad, they’ve started making their way to the U.S. too. There’s one in St. Augustine, Florida, where visitors can meet and interact with these lovable animals. And a brand-new capybara café just opened this July in St. Petersburg, giving even more people a chance to enjoy coffee and capybara cuddles.

Would you visit one of these cafés? Because honestly, it sounds like the perfect way to unwind.
