'If Not Friend, Why Friend-Shaped?': Bear's BIG Stretch Sparks Hilarious Reactions

June 13, 2025

A woman visiting Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina captured a moment that has the internet absolutely obsessed—a giant stretch from a very sleepy black bear.

The bear, round and fluffy like a living teddy bear, was sleeping comfortably before rolling over for the biggest stretch imaginable. The video quickly went viral, and it’s easy to see why. The bear looks more like a snuggly cartoon character than a predator.

Of course, viewers know they can’t pet a bear—but that hasn’t stopped anyone from joking that they want to.

Some of the internet’s best reactions include:

"CAN I PET THAT DAWG?"
"Ya, I refuse to believe that thing is dangerous."
"If not friend, why friend shaped?"
"I want to give belly rubs to the bear!"

Moments like these remind us of the quiet beauty and charm of the animal world—especially when they resemble sleepy pets we wish we could cuddle.
