Dog With ‘Cement’ Skin Gets Second Chance At Life
May 26, 2025
The transforming power of love.
Poleng’s early days were heartbreaking. His skin, hardened and cracked from severe mange, looked and felt like cement. His condition was painful to see — and likely even more painful to endure. Sadly, his owner wasn’t willing or able to get him medical help, and Poleng’s suffering continued far longer than it should have.
But then came a turning point: the owner finally agreed to give Poleng up to a family who could care for him. That decision saved his life.
Poleng was soon introduced to Animal Shelters, a dedicated nonprofit that works tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate abused and neglected animals. With their loving attention, medical care, and time, Poleng’s transformation began.
