Bald Eagle Couple Welcomes Two Fluffy Hatchlings - All Caught On Camera!
March 5, 2025
Nature lovers and birdwatchers are celebrating as Jackie and Shadow, a beloved pair of bald eagles in California’s San Bernardino National Forest, welcome two new additions to their nest! Thanks to a live cam set up by Friends of Big Bear Valley, viewers around the world witnessed the awe-inspiring moment as the tiny eaglets hatched.
The second chick made its grand entrance early in the morning, completing the hatching process known as “zippering,” where the little one cracks its shell by rotating inside. At 4:29 AM, Chick #2 finally wiggled free, joining its older sibling, who had already fluffed up into an adorable gray fuzzball.
This joyful moment is especially meaningful for Jackie and Shadow, who tragically lost their eggs to ravens two years ago.
