Fisherman Pulls In What He Thought Was Seaweed, Until It Started Moving

A man's incredible discovery in the ocean has captured the internet's fascination.
Sharing a video of a basket star he found, viewers were left stunned as the seemingly ordinary piece of seaweed began to move when he picked it up.

"I saw it for the first time and held it... it's like an octopus," the man said about his video.
Basket stars, with their intricate, branching arms, can easily be mistaken for seaweed when stationary. However, their unique and almost otherworldly movements set them apart, revealing the hidden wonders of the ocean.
Basket stars favor deep sea habitats - they're rarely in water less than 50 feet deep. They can live up to 35 years!
