These 'Rain Drums' Placed Outside Create Music From The Falling Rain
December 11, 2023
Artist Dan Corson figured out how to turn the rain into a melody.
17 drums were placed outside the Cedar River Watershed Education Center near Rattlesnake Lake outside of Snoqualmie, Washington.
This is the result.
@patrickolyn This is a drum machine with 17 drums representing different cultures. The copper pipes have release valves triggered by a midi signal creating programmed rhythms of contemporary and ethnic compositions as well as mimicking the rain at times. You can see and hear this at the Cedar River Watershed Education Center near Rattlesnake Lake outside of Snoqualmie, Washington.
