Meet Yogi, The Giant Caucasian Ovcharka Guard Dog

November 20, 2023

Yogi Bear is a Caucasian Shepherd Dog or Caucasian Ovcharka.

This breed was developed in the Soviet Union from about 1920 from dogs of the Caucasus Mountains. It is a serious guardian breed that was used for centuries to protect properties from trespassers, guard livestock from large and small predators such as wolves and coyotes, and for many other duties.

In modern days, especially in the West, they're most commonly companions and watchdogs.
