82-Year-Old Man Sets Up Telescope In Intersection So New Yorkers Can See Saturn

September 4, 2023

An amateur astronomer drew a crowd at an intersection in Brooklyn, New York as passersby stopped to take a look at Saturn.

Joe Delfausse started the evening on the sidewalk but soon realized he could get a perfect view of Saturn if he stood in the middle of the street.

That's when the line formed.

Passerby Daphne Juliet Ellis took a video of the scene and posted it to social media.

"The main thing I do is bring out my telescope where I know there are going to be people, so I can show them the heavens," Delfausse told The Guardian.
