Mississippi Teen Earns Standing Ovation For 'Dancing On My Own' Cover On American Idol
April 25, 2023
Colin Stough, an 18-year-old HVAC technician from a small town in Mississippi, made the Top 12 on America Idol and performed a unique version of Robyn's 2010 hit song "Dancing On My Own".
The audience erupted as all three Idol judges gave him a standing ovation. Luke Bryan was over the moon after the performance, running up on stage and jumping up and down on Stough in complete joy.
Stough, who usually sticks to country songs, said he couldn't fully explain why he chose to sing "Dancing On My Own".
"Something's laying it on my heart to do this one," he told the judges.
