An Abandoned And Severely Injured Pit Bull Nursed Back To Health Will Move You To Tears
May 5, 2014
When an abandoned and severely malnourished Pit Bull was discovered on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Coutinho Martins took action. Wilson has dedicated his life to rescuing and protecting animals from extreme conditions.

He weighed just 28 pounds and had a large, untreated wound to his lower back.

The would on his back was so severe and graphic, we could not even show it...

Wilson took the dog under his own care and home and began tending to his wounds, giving him the name "Davi."

Davi's wounds were cleaned and bandaged. He recieved several blood transfusions.

And he was fed plenty of treats for being so strong...

The wound had to be cleaned regularly. Davi was given antibiotics to fight the infection...

But he was beginning to recover...

And finally had a promising supply of food...

After three weeks of treatment and care, Davi's personality really began to show.

And he was loving his new family...

Enjoying his baths...

Davi is now a healthy boy...

Getting all the love he was missing...

With plenty of hugs and kisses...

After a long road of recovery, Davi is now living a great dog life with owner Wilson at his home in Rio de Janeiro.
