'She Felt Like A Rock': Man Saves Homeless Woman Found Frozen Outside

February 2, 2026

A Texas convenience store manager is being praised after stepping in to save the life of one of his regular customers during a dangerous winter storm.

Faris Hussain, a manager at Evans Food Mart in Fort Worth, sprang into action after another customer rushed into the store one morning with alarming news: a homeless woman known as Bobbi was lying frozen outside.

Without hesitation, Hussain ran outside to help. When he reached her, he realized just how serious the situation was.

He later described her body as stiff and frozen solid, barely able to move.

“She felt like a rock, as stiff as a rock. When I picked her up, her entire body was just – it was like no matter which way you picked her up, her body was going to stay the same form,” he said.

Despite the difficulty, Hussain lifted her himself and carried her into the store, where she slowly began to warm up.

Inside, Bobbi thanked everyone, explaining she had been outside all night in the freezing temperatures.

Police and paramedics soon arrived and transported her to the hospital.

Later, the story took a hopeful turn.

Hussain and Bobbi were reunited after her recovery. Surveillance footage showed the moment Hussain rushed to her rescue, a moment Bobbi says she wasn’t sure would ever come.

She shared that the night she was found was especially difficult. It had been her 50th birthday, and she was trying to reach a warming shelter but discovered it had already closed. She spent the night outside as freezing rain and sleet began to fall.

Unable to stand or walk, Bobbi said she crawled through the ice trying to get help, even leaving her shoes behind because she couldn’t get them on.

Hussain was the one person strong enough to lift her.

“You know, it’s kind of like, ‘God was watching over you—like, no, we’re going to make sure you’re good,’” Hussain said.

Fire officials confirmed that emergency crews responded and took Bobbi to the hospital. Her condition has not been publicly detailed, but she expressed deep gratitude to everyone who helped her.

She hopes her story inspires others to step in when someone is in need.

Hussain brushed off the idea of being a hero, saying helping people is simply part of how he and the store serve their community every day.
