40 year-old Joanne Milne has been deaf since birth. But with advances in modern science, that is all about to change.

She was filmed by her mother as her life-changing cochlear implants were switched on by doctors. Joanne became overwhelmed with emotion and burst into tears as she heard for the very first time in her life.
