Anonymous Donor Pays Emergency Vet Bills For Pets On Christmas
December 27, 2025
An anonymous donor surprised staff and visitors at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in Colorado by offering to cover emergency room exam fees for pets brought in that day.

According to the hospital, the man arrived around 8 a.m. and told employees he planned to stay for a couple of hours and pay the emergency exam fees for anyone who came through the doors.
Each gift came in a simple envelope containing a check that covered the nearly $200 emergency fee — a cost that can be overwhelming for families already worried about their pets.
Veterinary staff member Veronica Suazo said the moment was unlike anything she had seen before. The donor didn’t know the people he was helping, and staff had no advance notice that it was going to happen.
During his time at the hospital, the man covered fees for at least 10 pet owners and even left additional envelopes behind so others who arrived later could receive the same help. Some recipients were so moved that they offered to let the next person use the money instead, while others were brought to tears, unsure how they would have afforded care for their pets without it.
And the kindness didn’t stop there.
Before leaving, the anonymous donor also contributed $400 to the hospital’s charity fund to help future patients.
