A School’s Love Helps 9-Year-Old Survivor Heal After Tragic Accident

December 16, 2025

Nine-year-old Ramesses Dreuitt Vazquez faced a life-threatening ordeal last January when a medical transport plane crashed, causing his family’s car to catch fire. Tragically, his father and his father’s girlfriend lost their lives, and Ramesses sustained burns on 90% of his body.

Doctors weren’t sure he would survive.

Throughout his long hospital stay, Ramesses’ classmates and teachers became a source of incredible support. Some traveled to Boston to visit him, the community raised funds, and they even threw him a birthday party to lift his spirits.

Now, as Ramesses continues to fight and heal, his story is inspiring people everywhere — a testament to resilience, community, and the power of people coming together for a child in need.
