October 8, 2025
Sometimes heroes come with four legs and a wagging tail.
Florida authorities released bodycam video that shows a dog leading a deputy sheriff to a woman whose husband reported her missing that night.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said the 86-year-old woman was walking her son’s dog, Eeyore, last month when she didn’t return home at her usual time. After nearly an hour passed, her worried husband called deputies for help.
Deputy Devon Miller quickly began searching the neighborhood. Not long after, she spotted Eeyore still on his leash, walking toward her patrol car.
“Hi, baby, where’s your mama?” Miller can be heard asking in bodycam footage.
Eeyore then led the deputy straight to his “grandmother,” who had fallen and was unable to get up. The woman was alert and conscious but injured.
“He wouldn’t leave. He kept coming back to me,” she said in the video. “Oh, Eeyore, you’re a good boy. Grandma loves you.”
Deputy Miller stayed with the woman until EMS arrived. Sheriff Eric Aden said Eeyore lay beside her, protective and calm, as paramedics treated her.
“She had injured her leg. We got EMS there, and they were able to render aid,” Aden said.
The woman suffered only minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery — all thanks to the instincts and devotion of one very good dog.
Aden added that Deputy Miller declined interviews, wanting the story to focus on Eeyore—the true hero of the day.
