Brave Teens Kick Down Door To Save Dogs From Burning Home

August 23, 2025

A fast-moving fire in West Jordan, Utah, destroyed two homes on Jackling Drive — but thanks to a group of courageous teens, two family dogs made it out alive.

The fire broke out suddenly, filling the neighborhood with thick smoke. Several teens who lived just a few houses away didn’t think twice before rushing toward the flames.

“Without a second thought, we just jumped the fence,” one teen said. “We got down there to see if we could help, see what we could do.”

As they got closer, propane tanks exploded, making the situation even more dangerous. Spotting a truck in the driveway but no one exiting the home, the teens feared someone might be trapped inside.

“Our first thought was, ‘Oh crap, somebody is in there,’” one of them recalled.

Ring doorbell footage shows the teens pounding on the front door. Looking through a window, they spotted a dog inside. That’s when they made a split-second decision.

“We kicked down the door,” one teen said. Moments later, the video captured the group carrying not one, but two dogs to safety.

The teens said the gratitude of the dogs’ owners made everything worthwhile.

“Just how grateful the family was — it made you feel good inside,” one of them shared.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but for two beloved pets, it’s thanks to a group of brave neighborhood teens that this story has a silver lining.
