On Tuesday morning, a vehicle sped into an active work zone, striking several traffic barrels before plunging into Mobile Bay. As the car began to sink, foreman Kain Pintarelli of Mobile Asphalt Company didn’t hesitate. He immediately jumped into the water, reached the submerged vehicle, and pulled the driver to safety as water rushed inside.

Because of Pintarelli’s swift action, the driver made it safely to shore, where Mobile Fire and Rescue crews provided medical care.

Wiregrass Construction Company shared the story online, posting a photo of Kain and praising his bravery:

“We are proud to work alongside people like Kain, whose bravery and selflessness made a life-saving difference that day.”

Thankfully, no workers were injured during the incident, and property damage was minimal. But the day won’t be remembered for the crash — it will be remembered for one man’s courage to act without hesitation.
