Heart-Pounding Rescue: Police Save Horse Trapped In Frozen Pond

A dramatic rescue unfolded in Saratoga Springs on Monday, February 24th, when a horse fell through the ice and became trapped in a freezing pond.
With time running out, officers from the Saratoga Springs Police Department (SSPD) rushed to the scene to help save the struggling animal.

"The horse was in imminent danger of freezing to death," the SSPD said.
Officers were sent to the call and immediately began rescue efforts upon arrival. Thanks to their quick action and teamwork, the horse was successfully pulled onto solid ground.
Once freed, the resilient animal was able to stand and walk to a nearby barn, where it began receiving veterinary care.
The dramatic rescue was recorded on police bodycam:
"We are proud of their work and are grateful for the opportunity to share this incident with the Saratoga Springs community," the department wrote on Facebook. "Please join us in congratulating them on a job well done."
