A Philly Fan's 'Lost' Jacket Comes With A Heartwarming Twist

February 24, 2025

A Philadelphia Eagles fan’s unique act of kindness has sparked a feel-good moment that’s capturing hearts across the city—and beyond.

Amy Rannabargar said she was celebrating the Eagles' Super Bowl win at the Philadelphia Museum of Art on February 14 when she spotted a green Eagles Starter jacket. At first, she assumed someone had accidentally left it behind.

But when she picked it up, she discovered that the “lost” jacket was left behind on purpose.

Taped inside was a note that read:

"If found, do not return. This jacket belongs to you! I found this jacket on the night of the Super Bowl in 2018, and it only felt right to release it back into the city when the Eagles won again. Enjoy the jacket. I hope you get the opportunity to release it back into the world with another SB win soon. Go Birds."

Amy, touched by the anonymous act of generosity, shared a photo of the jacket and note in an Eagles fan group on Facebook. The post quickly spread, bringing joy to many. One fan even called it "like a Philly 'message in a bottle'."

Now, Amy is ready to keep the tradition alive. If the Eagles win another Super Bowl, she plans to pass the jacket on again—continuing a cycle of Eagles pride and goodwill.

“Now that I feel like people would be on the hunt for it, I’m like, ‘OK, I got to find a good hiding spot for it,’” she said.

A simple jacket, a heartfelt note, and a whole lot of love—this is the kind of story that makes sports fandom truly special.
